Rich Redmond is at the top of the list when it comes to drummers! He has been Jason Aldean’s drummer since 1999, he is one of the most in-demand musicians out there with 31 #1 hits so far, and he is an outstanding motivational speaker. Full of positive energy with the most dynamic personality, Rich keeps things moving forward, always! We’re proud to call him a dear friend!
In 2018, we made a special African Blackwood stick holder for his studio kit , and a unique 7-stick holder for his touring kit in 2019. Both are black, as that is Rich’s preferred flavor.
Early in 2022, we were messaging back and forth, and he asked about doing a signature series line of stick holders. We got on it right away, planning the designs, finding the wood needed for this special project, and getting our hands and tools busy making all of these special pieces! |
Rich personally autographed every piece, and they are available to everyone!
The Rich Redmond Signature Series debuted at the 2022 Music City Drum Show in Nashville, where Rich autographed each one of the 27 pieces. It was a big hit at the show, and 1/4 of them sold at the show.
Details and pictures for each stick holder can be seen in the collection, and you can choose from those still available for purchase. |

We wanted to create several different designs and wood types, so that drummers of all types could use these stick holders in the studio, at local gigs, or on a nationwide tour. Four different types of wood are utilized, and the different designs will hold 2, 3, 4, or 7 sticks and a tuning key, all with a DW clamp allowing them to mount easily.
Brazilian Ebony is another beautiful wood, with variable levels of darkness and grain patterns. Some of these Brazilian Ebony stick holders are as black as can be, and some have more of the deep black/burgundy grain pattern visible. It is less expensive than African Blackwood, but not any easier to work. |
The larger 7-stick holders in the series are made from ebonized Sycamore, making it reasonably light weight like the one Rich uses on tour,. Sycamore has a nice tight grain pattern that dyes well to a deep black color. And why 7 sticks you might wonder? John Hull, Rich’s drum tech, asked for the 7-stick design because most shows, Rich goes through 7 sticks. Go figure….

All of the Rich Redmond Signature Series Stick Holders use DW hardware that will allow them to be clamped to just about any cymbal stand, hi-hat, or even a drum rack. Most have a simple pivoting clamp, and some have an extension arm clamp. Rack mount clamps are also available.
If you want a different clamp option than is on a particular stick holder, (for example, you want a clamp arm instead of the basic clamp) that is an option available on each stick holder.
