Spend some time with a beautifully finished guitar, custom drum set, or other musical instrument, simply looking at the wood grain; how it flows, bends, and curves; the contrast and complimentary aspects of the different woods used; the finish and details. It is art, created in nature, and brought to life by craftsmen.
We pride ourselves in choosing the best materials, taking as much time as is needed, and using techniques that will allow us to create the most beautiful products possible. It doesn't usually happen quickly. We may look at a piece of wood for some time over a several day period before making the first cut. "Look at a piece of wood long enough, and it will tell you what it wants to be."
And even when we make that first cut in a nice piece of burl wood, in a similar manner to what Forest Gump said, when you cut open a piece of wood, you never know exactly what you are going to get.
From that first look at a piece of wood, through every cut, every hole drilled, all the way through final finishing, it all adds up to the end product. Craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality materials... Every step is as important as any other.
